Good news to small businesses that are offering cloud computing services. The General Services Administration, in partnership with the Federal Cloud Computing Initiative and the Defense Department’s Enterprise Software Initiative, is requesting for quotation for services related to cloud computing. This is a $2.5 billion (approximately) worth of contract for five years.

GSA divides the requirements into five lots, which include migration and integration services, mandatory email-as-a-service, electronic record management services and optional office automation. It expects to award multiple contracts. Small business owners who wish to have the chance to participate in government procurement must take this as an opportunity.
