government procurement agreementSummary: Signing contracts may be the most rewarding feeling for most entrepreneurs, but it is always a must to observe the DOs and DON’Ts for post and pre-signing of government procurement agreement.

It is perfectly understandable when a young entrepreneur gets giddy and excited when venturing into government procurement. In some cases, however, the excitement results to the neglect of the DOs and DON’Ts of government procurement agreement.

Knowing the ways in which one can instantly bag a contract for procurement from the government contractors is a must for any businessman. With the proper techniques and skills, they can easily get the government to agree with any government procurement agreement they present.

Government procurement agreement, in this light, can be defined as the set of terms and conditions approved both by the seller and the buyer. The agreement is usually in black and white, and is considered a crucial document for the government procurement process. Should the bidder succeed in winning the bidding, the government procurement agreement will be sealed with signatures of both parties.

This, however, cannot happen in a snap. There may be cases when the entrepreneur passes through the eye of a needle just to get his signature included in the government procurement agreement. Thus, in presenting the terms and conditions along with the contract content during negotiations, the presentation should include:

  1. Executive Summary that coaxes the government to choose your company and how your company is expected to perform in accomplishing their requested work
  2. Lists of resumes and qualifications of the company’s top personnel, along with the contactors mentioned in the proposal
  3. Elaboration of main topics included in the request for proposal
  4. Charts and relevant graphs which may be helpful in backing up the data presented.
  5. List of past satisfactory projects similar to the ones proposed to the government
  6. Safety plans when machineries, chemicals, electronics or equipment are involved in the government procurement

All of these points included in the government procurement agreement presented to the client should satisfy the current needs of the government. The aim here is to make them agree with you and sign the contract presented.

The process, though, does not end in winning a contract. Since the entrepreneurs are bound to sign the government procurement agreement that would require them to handle tasks and responsibilities for a certain period, it is a must for them to agree with the provisions in the document.
